The role of genetics in determining health outcomes is both fascinating and complex. While your DNA can influence susceptibility to diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer, it doesn’t tell the whole story. Lifestyle choices, diet, and environmental factors also play significant roles. In my family, there is a strong family history of cancer, from lung cancer to skin cancer, blood cancers, and gynecological cancers. But, by not smoking, using sunscreen, and minimizing exposure to certain known carcinogens, I am minimizing the risk.
